There are endless way to ask for replies, just keep the wording consistent with your invitations.
Dizzy Wizzy Tips
- You should give your guests at least a couple of weeks to rsvp while ensuring you have everyone’s replies in enough time to confirm numbers with your wedding venue.
- If you’re still not sure, give yourself half the time you give your guests. For example, if you send your invitations out eight weeks before your wedding, ask for replies four weeks from the wedding.
Save the Date
Give your guests as much notice as possible of the date of your wedding by sending save the date cards. This is a good idea if you are inviting interstate and overseas guests or are getting married in a location that requires your guests to travel or stay overnight.
Times are busy & calendars are full!

want you to know
they are planning their wedding for
10th March 2008
Please keep the day free
Dizzy Wizzy tips
- You may also like to include location details.
- If you’re planning on creating your own wedding website, have it up and running by the time you send out save the date cards and include your website address. If you like the idea of a website but aren’t sure how to go about it, then Dizzy Wizzy can create one for you.
Thank You Card
- The final piece of wedding stationery is often a thank you card in the same design as the invitation and other pieces.
- A thank you card can simply be a small card with enough space for you to write a few personal sentences for each of your guests.
Dizzy Wizzy Tips
- Thank you notes should be sent within a few weeks of receiving the gifts, although if you have are lucky enough to be going on a long honeymoon just send them as soon as possible.
- Personalise each thank you note and mention the gift by name, for example ‘we love the toaster’. If you receive money do not mention the amount, just thank your guests for their ‘generous gift’.
- Give an example of how the gift will be used and if possible connect it to your guests - ‘we’ve put a lovely photo of us all in the frame you kindly gave us’.
- Thank you cards are not just for gifts, send them to thank your guests for coming to your wedding too.
